Description (Service) |
Provides positive adult role models to boys and girls, ages 6 to 16, through volunteer mentoring relationships that are based on Fun and Friendship, programs include: - One To One Big Brother/Big Sister program, an adult mentor, 20 years of age and up, also open to couples wishing to volunteer together, is matched to a child for weekly contact, requires a minimum one year commitment
- In-School Mentoring, an adult mentor, 20 years of age and up, is matched with a child in a partnering school
- Go Girls, female mentors 18-25 yrs facilitate a 7 week program at a local school with Grade 6 - 8 girls
- Game On, male mentors 18-25 yrs facilitate a 7 week program at a local school with Grade 6- 8 boys
- various fundraising events are held throughout the year that encourage community involvement, including: Bowl for Kids, Golf for Kids, Big Bash, Curl for Kids
- team works remotely and all programs for our mentors are done within partnering schools or in the community
Outreach Presentations Presentations include Game On group mentoring for boys on healthy lifestyle practices and Go Girls program Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds |
