OAS pension is a monthly payment available to seniors aged 65 and older who meet the Canadian legal status and residence requirements - Funded out of the general tax revenues of the Government of Canada

- for assistance in person, make a request for an appointment by filling out the service request form at Service Request

Eligibility |
- Age Requirements: 65 year(s) and up
- Canadian citizen or legal resident
- residing in Canada for at least 10 years after reaching age 18
- can be deferred for up to 60 months (5 years) after the date of eligibility
- Canadian citizens living outside of Canada who lived in Canada for a total of at least 20 years after reaching age 18, see website for details

- Older Adults who are eligible are enrolled automatically
- a notification letter will be sent by Service Canada the month after turning 64
- if no letter is received, apply in writing by mail
