Description (Service)

Pack a shoe box gift with items for children outside of Canada

  • gift is made by filling a shoe box with school supplies, hygiene items (toothpaste not accepted), clothing items (T-shirts, ball cap, socks), toys and other related small items
  • some items such as candy are not accepted, see What to Pack
  • Participants choose to direct their shoe box gift to either a boy or a girl in one of 3 age categories (2-4 yrs, 5-9 yrs, or 10-14 yrs)
  • Standard shoe boxes and instruction pamphlets (one for each shoe box gift) are available from various churches and other organizations, in Barrie, Innisfil, Cookstown, Alliston, Tottenham, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Elmvale and Midland
  • regular shoe boxes may also be used, recognizing that an instruction pamphlet is required for each box to be filled; instruction pamphlet can be picked up at participating churches
  • program is conducted each year by Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization with Canadian headquarters in Calgary
