Description (Service) | COVID-19 Response * Services are being delivered remotely at this time Regular Service Job Finding Club for Immigrants (JFCI) connects job seekers with people, support, and information needed to move into the Canadian workplace, participants will receive: * employment related workshops * job search assistance * professional networking experience * assistance to connect with a Mentor in their sector *one professional networking session that is organized during week 5 in the evening Participants should have child care in place (do not provide on-site care) and appropriate work clothing to meet with employers * may be able to provide assistance with transportation costs, please inquire if needed |

Eligibility | The following clients are eligible for the JFCI: * Permanent Residents of Canada * Protected Persons as defined in Section 95 of the IRPA * Individuals who have been selected, in Canada or overseas, to become permanent residents (pending verifications) and who have been informed of their selection, by a letter from IRCC * Convention refugees and protected persons overseas who have been selected for resettlement in Canada by IRCC * Live-in Caregiver in Canada: caregivers with a work permit under the LCP are eligible for settlement services (no language training) * formal referrals from Ontario Works (OW) using the community referral form are accepted, indicate that it is for the JFCI * anyone can contact club for an initial assessment, even if uncertain about eligibility, language capacity or other needs for the program |
