Eligibility |
To qualify all of the following conditions must be met:- aged 60 to 64 (includes the month of 65th birthday)
- Canadian citizen or legal resident
- reside in Canada and have resided in Canada for at least 10 years since the age of 18
- spouse or common-law partner has died and have not remarried or entered into a common-law relationship
- annual income is less than the maximum annual threshold, see website for details

- Apply 6 to 11 months before 60th birthday
- paper application form can be printed from website, see Application Form and Information Sheet for OAS Allowance and returned to local Service Canada office or mailed to:

- to request a phone call from a Service Canada representative about this program complete an online request at Service Request
