Description

Description (Service) Francophone prevention centre for violence against women and sexual assault
  • free and confidential services offered include counseling, transitional support, housing support, family court support, advocacy, representation and accompaniment (when possible)
  • offer information and referrals to community services and provide resources for support (books, CD-DVD's, etc)
  • services offered are available by phone, or by email, in-person services are available by appointment only

Family Court Support Worker Program

Facilitates a victim's understanding of and passage through the family court system. Support provided includes:

  • information on the family court process
  • assistance in preparing for family court proceedings (documenting history of abuse, accessing Legal Aid
  • debriefing with clients following family court appearances
  • referral to specialized services and supports in the community
  • safety planning
  • court accompaniment to proceedings when appropriate

  • Age Requirements: Ages: 16 year(s) and up
  • Colibri Services -- Francophone or French speaking women who are experiencing, who have experienced or who are at risk of experiencing domestic violence and/or sexual assault
  • Family Court Support Worker Program -- victims of domestic violence involved in the family court process
