Simcoe Community Access Network (SCAN) is a non-profit cooperative that works to improve regional access to information through the creation of a high speed telecommunication network by:

• maximizing existing infrastructure and introducing new technology
• coordinating and negotiating for the purchase of internet access in bulk for Simcoe County and public sector organizations such as the County, School Boards, Child, Youth & Family Services and Hospitals
• negotiating better contracts with service providers ensuring the public sector telecommunications services are procured at the most competitive market rate available through collective purchasing power
