Description

Description (Service)

Wildlife Centre located on 3,000 acres of Provincially Significant Wetlands and woodlands in Tay, Ontario. Visitors of all ages and abilities are encouraged to discover a variety of outdoor educational enviornmental programming, both drop-in and pre-registered, from guided walks to mocassin making workshops.

Facilities include:

  • Birds of Prey Field
  • Wildflower gardens
  • Waterfowl monitoring platform
  • Floating Boardwalk and Berm
  • Pavilion
  • Lookout Tower
  • Hiking & snowshoe trails
  • 25 kms of cross country ski trails
  • Full ski and snowshoe rentals
  • Accessible Visitor Centre
  • Gift Shop

Activities included with admission:

  • Live animal demonstrations on weekends
  • Family nature programs
  • Guided walks with a naturalist
  • Curriculumn-based education programs for school children
  • Outdoor education experiences for Scouts, Guides and other groups

  • Canoe, kayak and snowshoe ecotours
  • Winter Break, March Break, and Summer Daycamps
  • Sweetwater Maple Syrup Festival in March
  • Nature-themed workshops, i.e., moccasin making, nature photography, stone carving, wildlife photograpy, wilderness camping, etc.
