Provides help to reduce the effects of stroke through treatment that follows province-wide best practices for stroke

• The stroke team provides acute care for people who have experienced strokes
• This includes initial rehabilitation services for inpatients to help reduce the effects of their physical, cognitive and communicative deficits
• Assessments are completed to determine whether the patient requires post-stroke rehabilitation services at a specialized centre
• Services include administration of tPA (an activating clot busting drug) based on a patient's clinical criteria
• Supports the District of Muskoka and East Parry Sound communities
