Opportunity Details: Repair Cafés – Volunteer Fixers

Comments

Repair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together).

Living Green Barrie partners with the Barrie Public Library and Firebird Community Cycle to host Repair Cafés and we’re always looking for volunteer fixers. Repair Cafes are hosted by the Barrie Public Library a few times per year.

The goal of the Repair Cafe is to repair items and divert them from the landfill. Items often include basic electrical (lamps, wiring, etc. small appliances (e.g. toasters), clothing, and bikes, general repairs.

We do not fix electronics (cell phones, laptops, etc.)

The focus is on sharing skills and empowering visitors, not just fixing things for them.

** Do you belong to a community group/associatio/club (e.g. sewing club, woodworkers, electricians etc.) and want more information to share with your group?  Contact  us and we would be happy to answer your questions.
