Participation Lodge Grey Bruce is seeking volunteers to support a one‑day community prom event for adults with disabilities. This is a fun, inclusive, and meaningful volunteer opportunity suitable for students completing community involvement hours as well as adult community volunteers.

Duties

Volunteers will assist with a community prom event for adults with disabilities living at Participation Lodge and Grey-Bruce area. Roles may include:

  • Hair, Makeup & Styling Support: Assisting residents with hair styling, makeup, nails, and getting ready for the event (based on volunteer comfort and skill level)
  • Photography & Video: Capturing photos and short videos of residents during the “getting ready” process and throughout the prom itself
  • Set‑Up & Take‑Down: Helping prepare the space before the event (decorating, arranging tables, etc.) and assisting with clean‑up afterward
  • Event Support: Supporting staff with other tasks as needed to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable event

All volunteers will be supervised by staff at all times, and will be assigned roles based on their interests, skills, and comfort level.

We are seeking volunteers to help with set up and take down, photographers to take pictures of getting ready and at the event, help with doing hair and makeup on the individuals, etc.
Transportation Be able to reliable commute to our location.

Additional Requirements A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and references are required for volunteers who will have unsupervised direct contact with individuals. For this event, volunteers will be supervised by staff at all times.
