Shifts are 12 hours on call basis. Standing by, yet ready to respond to scene within 30 minutes

You must be within 20 minutes of the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital
TrainingOrientation ; Training is provided - Next training session begins 24 March 2020 ; Scheduled training - March of each year ; Training on the job ; Training on-going - Mandatory meetings occur about every month and half ; Orientation ; Scheduled training ; Training on the job ; Fill out application form, go through interview process, Police check, provide three references, attend 60 hour training (20 sessions), agree to be on-call for a minimum of 3 12-hour shifts per month. All volunteers must take an Oath of Confidentiality.  
Volunteers receive training in Sudden death/death notifications, Traffic accidents, Spousal/Partner abuse, elder abuse, Family occurrences, Sexual assaults, Suicide and/or attempts, Domestic Violence, Robberies/break and enters, Property crimes, Fires, Personal crises, Homicide, Abductions, Multi-casualty disasters, need to notify children's aid society and much more.
