Course guides stand at key intersections or turns to guide runners along the correct route and cheer them on. The shift lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours and begins around 6:30 am. Access to a car, or a carpool may be necessary to reach the intersections positioned further on the course on time.
To sign up as a course guide, please visit: https://www.buttertarttrot.ca/volunteer, scroll down and click on the “sign up to be a volunteer” button. The application will be automatically sent to the volunteer coordinator once complete. The deadline to apply to be a course guide is May 30th 2026.
Student Volunteers
Are you a high school student in need of community service hours? By volunteering at the Butter Tart Trot, you have the opportunity to accrue volunteer hours needed for graduation. North Simcoe Rotaract will only sign off on the volunteer hours of students who have signed in and signed out of their shift at the volunteer desk.
Huron Shores Hospice is looking for volunteers to assist with our fundraising events and community outreach events. We need volunteers to help with our Hike for Hospice, Handbags for Hospice, Catch the Ace ticket sales and other community outreach events. We have various jobs including event setup, selling raffle tickets, community booth coverage, assisting event organizers and clean-up.
Welcomes donors to hospitality area of clinic

- give information and updates to donors
- answer questions, thank donors and give milestone donor recognition items
- observe donors and watch for adverse reactions
- keep hospitality area in good order
The Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit group that maintains and stewards the Bruce Trail and its lands from the western edge of the Blue Mountains to Blantyre. Volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to conservation and the Bruce Trail in a variety of ways.
Trail Maintenance volunteers are part of a roster that may include: sawyers, trail builders, grass-cutters and trimmers, trail clean-up, etc.
Volunteer Land Stewards actively care for each of the properties that are owned or managed by the Bruce Trail Conservancy by visiting an assigned property at least twice a year, completing annual reports on the conditions of the land, and providing input into the stewardship plans.
Hike Leaders plan and guide hikers on the trail in organized hikes approximately once per month, in all four seasons if possible.
Other opportunities to volunteer in Communications and Publicity, Outreach, or on the Board are available as well.
All volunteers will receive training and equipment as necessary. Commitment times are flexible. Please contact the Club to find the opportunity that's right for you!

Variety of volunteer positions which focus on patients, visitors and staff. Positions available in ambulatory care reception, Inpatient Units, gift shop, reminder telephoning, diagnostic imaging Xray, CT, Mammography, Bone Density, MRI, Surgical Day Care (Post anaesthetic care unit). ICU and Emergency Department
Tear down and re-arrange exhibits. Design, build, research and install new and existing exhibits in coordination with the Museum Curator.
Responsible for sales, promoting, inventory, tourist information and museum tours.

Assist in one or all special events that take place at the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives including: Winterama, Easter Eggstravaganza, Canada Day, Tea & Tarts, Spirit Walk, Doors Open, Halloween Spooktacular and/or Breakfast with Santa.
Love chatting with people, sharing stories and educating all ages about wildlife and cohabitating with them? Consider becoming a tour guide (don’t worry if you don’t know much about wildlife, we provide you with training).
The public can book guided group tours with us any time of the year. It’s wonderful to see their reactions upon seeing a Moose or bear for the first time!
Guided tours are a great way for us to educate the public and create awareness of what we do and it’s also a good way to raise funds for our registered charity.
Guided tours are outdoor walking events on unpaved paths. One tour take approx. 2 hours
Time committment: Minimum one morning per week 8:30 am-1 pm. Training will be provided.

Overview & Impact: The Georgian Triangle Humane society is a not-for-profit charity that works to provide innovative programs and compassionate services to pets and people in the south Georgian Bay region and beyond. Because the GTHS receives no government funding, we rely on the generosity of our donors and supporters to fulfil our mission of delivering innovative programs and compassionate services that enhance the lives of pets in need and the people that care for them. We are immensely grateful to the donors who support our organization.
Position Summary: Donor Engagement Volunteers report to the Senior Manager of Philanthropy (or delegate) to gain guidance in fostering positive relationships with donors. by contacting them upon becoming a regular donor or after donating to a ‘signature’ event or campaign. These volunteers will contact identified regular donors or signature event donors and may participate in regular Donor Relations Team meetings to collaborate on ideas that will enhance the relationships that leadership and legacy donors have with the GTHS, to inspire higher levels of giving.
This is a remote volunteer position (with occasional onsite activities) and volunteers will utilize their own computer or tablet, telephone and internet.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participation in monthly Donor Relations Team meeting – virtual or in-person
- Independent conversations with donor contacts via email, in person, and / or telephone
- Performs independent research on subject matter when required
- May be asked to participate in donor engagement activities such as donor tours of the Animal Centre
- Networking and relationship building
- Acquiring a solid knowledge of the GTHS and fundraising best practices
About Bridget’s Bunnies
Bridget’s Bunnies is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families through the heartbreak of pregnancy and infant loss. We provide Comfort Kits, remembrance resources, and compassionate community care, ensuring no one walks this journey alone.
Bridget’s Bunnies is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with special events throughout the year, including community events and Bridget’s Bunnies fundraising events and activities. This role involves representing Bridget’s Bunnies brands throughout the Simcoe/Muskoka region.
Hours: Volunteers will be expected to participate in events throughout Simcoe/Muskoka as their schedule allows
Location: Simcoe/Muskoka Region
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Bridget’s Bunnies professionally and positively at community events.
- Assist with event setup, engagement, and teardown at third-party fundraising events, street fairs, and other promotional activities.
- Provide information about Bridget’s Bunnies to the public and be comfortable speaking about Bridget’s Bunnies' mission and values.
- Encourage community participation and fundraising efforts.
- Work closely with event organizers and fellow volunteers to ensure a smooth event experience.
- Transport promotional materials and event supplies to and from event locations.
Requirements:
- Access to and use of a personal vehicle with valid insurance. (preferred)
- Comfortable speaking with the public and engaging with event attendees.
- Ability to lift and carry event materials as needed.
- Availability to attend events in the Simcoe/Muskoka region
- Passion for supporting those affected by pregnancy or infant loss.
