What You'll Do:
• Help guide the organization: You will support CSCN in making important decisions about our future.
• Attend monthly meetings: Meetings take place on the 4th Tuesday of each month, from September to
June (no meeting in December).
• Join committees: You may join small groups of board members to work on specific topics or projects.
Volunteers will assist with a community prom event for adults with disabilities living at Participation Lodge and Grey-Bruce area. Roles may include:
- Hair, Makeup & Styling Support: Assisting residents with hair styling, makeup, nails, and getting ready for the event (based on volunteer comfort and skill level)
- Photography & Video: Capturing photos and short videos of residents during the “getting ready” process and throughout the prom itself
- Set‑Up & Take‑Down: Helping prepare the space before the event (decorating, arranging tables, etc.) and assisting with clean‑up afterward
- Event Support: Supporting staff with other tasks as needed to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable event
All volunteers will be supervised by staff at all times, and will be assigned roles based on their interests, skills, and comfort level.
We’re gearing up for Soldiers’ Ride on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this incredible community event a success!
Soldiers’ Ride is a 30K, 50K, and 100K cycling and fundraising event in support of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, bringing together riders, supporters, and volunteers to advance patient care close to home!

Fixers are people who enjoy troubleshooting and repairing household items, helping others learn basic repair and who want to reduce waste and promote reuse.
- Respond to email to confirm availabillty
- Attend the repair cafe location (one of the BPL Branches)
- Provide skills, expertise, advice to community members who need an item repaired
- Share skill and knowledge & empower visitors
We are especially looking for people who are handy with:
- clothing/textiles
- electrical appliances
- bicycles
- furniture/wooden objects
And who like to share their skills with neighbours.
- Create, design, and schedule engaging content for Barrie Fuzion Fest social media platforms
- Write copy for posts, media advisories, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Assist in developing and implementing marketing and fundraising strategies
- Support the creation of visual assets such as templates, posters, and campaign materials
- Contribute to annual reports and promotional storytelling content
- Update and maintain website content as needed
- Work collaboratively with the team while also being able to work independently
